"The medal was well received by the family, it meant a lot to my Dad being able to find it. The information on Hamelet was fascinating, as were the diaries on the conflict. My father now wants to go over to France and Hamelet to see where his grandfather was injured. To say my father, and myself and brother, are touched by having something so personal of my great grandfathers, is an understatement. For us it is an honour to receive something that was given in honour. For me, it makes my great grandfather a real person, not just a picture sitting on the shelf. All this because I just happened to be trawling the internet looking for information on him, and literally stumbled on your website. When I realised the import of what I was looking at I was almost in tears. Thankyou for giving us the opportunity to have such a priceless object back in our family where it belongs."

"The goal of the medal rescue team is admirable and to think that people, like you, voluntarily find these medals and research them in order to reunite them with their families is so wonderful. I have learnt a lot from the information that you sent me with regards to my step-grandfather who was a significant part of my father's childhood years and it has inspired me to get cracking on the family tree once again (it has been on hold for a while). My Aunty who will be 83 this year is just over the moon with the medal and the information that you sent. She said that even though she was only 12 when her father died she didn't know much about his time in the war. She knew he had been in the Boar War but not in WWI. She has read the information and said that it has given her so much insight into what he did and where he was. She feels very proud of her father and can now acknowledge what the fight that he was in was like. She has spoken to her daughters and they too are thrilled with this discovery. One of them lives in France and she is going to do a bit of searching over there and it has inspired them both to do some more digging into their family tree. You have made my Aunty very happy and she is so grateful for all of the work you did to get the medal back to us. Thank you from both of us and again we would like to say how much we appreciate what you do. It is remarkable, generous and commendable. Congratulations to the Medal Rescue Team!"

“Thanks to Kris and Medal Rescue for doing such a noble job in reuniting families with their war medals. In my case I feared my
grandfather’s
medals were lost forever,
I was surprised and very emotional when I received the call that my grandfather’s medals had been found . I have few memories of my grandfather as he died when I was a very young child and this gives me something tangible to hold onto and also to pass on to further generations. The information received about my grandfather’s war service was deeply moving and made me really think about what war veterans went through for all of us. To Kris and Medal Rescue there should be more people in the world like you and thanks again for all your marvellous efforts as this gives our family and further generations of our family an opportunity to keep these medals in their rightful place at the very top of our trophy cabinet as this is the biggest honour a person can receive.”

"I received James medal package, thankyou very much.
In particular, thankyou for the supporting materials you sent.
We do not have much information about his service and the articles and information have helped to give us an idea.
I would like to say thankyou to medalrescue for providing this service.
I was only hoping to find some information from the AWM when I discovered Medal Rescue.
Discovering his medal has helped to keep his memory alive.
My mother in law has told us some stories about him to his great grandchildren, so they will have some idea of what he was like. Once again Medal Rescue, thankyou."(Granddaughter of James Ellis LAWS and Husband)From Medal Rescue, thank you for your kind donation, it has been gratefully received

“I didn't even know the medal existed and I want to thank
Medal Rescue for rescuing it and saving it for my family considering much of it
is shrouded in mystery. Medal Rescue also provided further details as to how many
medals still remain so it's truly a labour of love and truly an enormous
blessing to me personally. Thank you. Stephanie”
